Daffodil prices soar after cruel winter as Britain braces itself for yet more snow

After a bracing winter, it’s almost that time when thoughts turn to brightening up homes for the spring, perhaps with a bunch of cheery daffodils.

Growers say the coldest winter in more than 20 years has badly hit daffodil crops, leading to shortages in supermarkets and higher prices.
